Broadway Grosses: Four Final Bows

Brooklyn, La Cage aux Folles, Mark Twain Tonight! and On Golden Pond all closed on June 26, and three of the four showed boosts at the box office in their final week of performances. Brooklyn was up $44,756 but still came in at only $219,162. La Cage aux Folles took a $82,325 jump as compared to the previous week to come in at $434,141. Mark Twain Tonight! also had a bump in its final week--up $45,630 to close the week at $258,461. On Golden Pond, on the other hand, was out of luck; in its second week without headliner James Earl Jones, the show fell $29,141, as compared to the week ending June 19, to come in at $135,912.
