Rosemary Harris to Star in Ariel Dorfman's The Other Side at MTC

Tony winner Rosemary Harris will star in the Manhattan Theatre Club production of Ariel Dorfman's The Other Side. The production, directed by Blanka Zizka, is scheduled to begin previews on November 10, a production spokesperson confirmed.

Harris most recently appeared on the New York stage in Edward Albee's All Over for the Roundabout Theatre Company in 2002. She won a Tony Award for her performance in The Lion in Winter. Her other Broadway credits include A Delicate Balance, Waiting in the Wings, An Inspector Calls, Hay Fever, Pack of Lies, Heartbreak House, The Royal Family, A Streetcar Named Desire and Old Times. Harris also has a long history on both the small and big screens. She won a 1996 Emmy Award for her performance in the miniseries Notorious Woman and received an Oscar nomination in 1995 for Tom & Viv. Her other film credits include Uncle Vanya, The Boys from Brazil, A Flea in Her Ear, Crossing Delancy, Hamlet, My Life So Far, Sunshine, The Gift, both Spider-Man films and Being Julia.

The Other Side is set in a war torn country where a man and a woman Harris wait. They pass their days identifying the casualties. When peace and a border guard arrive, their bleakly predictable world unravels.

The Other Side will officially open off-Broadway on December 6.
