Sarah Lancashire to Play Miss Adelaide in the West End's Guys and Dolls

Sarah Lancashire will be the next Miss Adelaide in the West End production of Guys and Dolls. Current star Jane Krakowski will depart after the December 3 performance. Lancashire will start two days later.

Lancashire is best known for playing Raquel Catherine Watts née Wolstenholme on the television series Coronation Street, on which she appeared for nearly seven years. Her series credits since leaving that show in 1996 include, Bloomin' Marvellous, Where the Heart Is, Clocking Off, Chambers and Rose and Maloney. While she is well known for her television work, Lancashire also has experience on the stage. A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, her theatrical credits include productions of Pacific Overtures, The Beauty Game, Blood Brothers, Little Shop of Horrors and Educating Rita.

In addition to Krakowski, Guys and Dolls, which is directed by Michael Grandage, currently stars Ewan McGregor, Douglas Hodge and Jenna Russell. The leads' contracts all expire December 3.
