In Everything's Turning Into Beautiful, which is being billed as a "musical story," Sciorra and Cannavale will star as two song writers facing their forties, failures and the possibility of new love.
Sciorra and Cannavale, both New Group alums, are an off-stage couple. Sciorra, currently starring on TV's Law & Order: Criminal Intent, has been noted for her work in such films as Jungle Fever, The Addiction, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Romeo is Bleeding and Copland. She appeared in the New Group production of Roar for the theater in Spring 2004. Her stage credits also include appearances at the Nuyorican Poets Café, where she worked extensively with writer/director Reinoldo Povod Cuba and His Teddy Bear, La Puta Vida Trilogy, projects with the Naked Angels and a performance at the Promenade Theatre in David Rabe' Those the River Keeps.
The New Group will kick off its 2005-2006 season in November with Abigail's Party starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and will then present the play opera The Music Teacher with a book by Wallace Shawn and music by Allen Shawn in February.
