Tony Winners Fierstein & Latessa to Reprise Hairspray Roles in Las Vegas

Hairspray's Tony-winning original onstage couple, Harvey Fierstein and Dick Latessa, will reprise their roles at the Luxor Las Vegas, according to Variety.

Fierstein, who is currently starring in Fiddler on the Roof, won the Best Actor in a Musical Tony Award for his performance as Edna Turnblad. He played his final performance in the Broadway production on May 2, 2004. Latessa received the Best Featured Actor in a Musical Tony for his performance as Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray> He departed the production on August 1, 2004.

Hairspray will have a new 90-minute version in Vegas. The show will open in February with Fierstein and Latessa signed on to star for 12 weeks.
