Applegate and Lithgow to Host Broadway on Broadway on 9/18

Sweet Charity's Christina Applegate and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' John Lithgow will co-host the 14th Annual Broadway on Broadway. The event will take place in Times Square on September 18, starting at 11:30am.

"The theater community has been so warm and welcoming to me," Applegate said in a statement. "What better way to thank them then to co-host this huge party presenting the best of what Broadway has to offer? And I'm thrilled to share the stage with John Lithgow, whose work I'm a huge fan of."

This year's event will offer sneak peaks at the upcoming shows The Color Purple, Souvenir and In My Life. Also featured will be numbers from the currently playing Broadway tuners All Shook Up, Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Hairspray, Lennon, The Light in the Piazza, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, The Producers, Rent, Sweet Charity, Sweeney Todd, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Wicked.
