Joy Ends Short Off-Broadway Run September 25 at Actors' Playhouse

John Fisher's Joy will end its run at the Actors' Playhouse on September 25. At the time it closes, it will have played 17 previews and 49 regular performances at the venue.

Joy tells the story of seven young friends discovering their own unique love of life, each other and themselves in San Francisco over the course of one year. Ken Barnett, Michael Busillo, Ben Curtis, Ryan Kelly, January LaVoy, Christopher Sloan and Paul Whitthorne star.

Joy, directed by Ben Rimalower, officially opened at the Actors' Playhouse on August 14. It was previously seen in Gotham during a short run at The Producers Club. In his Broadway.com Review of the comedy, William Stevenson wrote: "[Joy] is more ambitious and earnest than most 'gay plays.' Unfortunately, despite intermittent laughs, Joy seldom lives up to its ambitions--or its title, for that matter."
