Barra Grant's A Mother, a Daughter and a Gun will play its final performace at off-Broadway's Dodger Stages on November 20. The dark comedy, starring Olympia Dukakis and Veanne Cox, will have played 19 preview and 23 regular performances at the time of its closing.
A Mother, a Daughter and a Gun centers on a headstrong woman and her daughter, who is on the verge of emotional collapse. In addition to the aforementioned stars, the production features David Bishins, Mario Campanaro, Katrina Ferguson, Matthew Greer, Laura Heisler, George S. Irving, Stephanie Kurtzuba and Daniel Pearce.
Directed by Jonathan Lynn, A Mother, a Daughter and a Gun officially opened on November 3. In his Broadway.com Review of the show, William Stevenson wrote: "Some plays sound promising and get off to a pretty good start, raising the audience's expectations before ultimately crashing and burning. That certainly applies to Barra Grant's erratic new comedy... The talented duo of Olympia Dukakis and Veanne Cox headline the cast, and their first scene triggers some laughs. Then, unfortunately, it's all downhill from there."
