Best TV Show: "Ricky Gervais' new show Extras on HBO. It's so funny."

Best Stage Door Remark: "The guy a couple of weeks ago who said, 'You were okay in this, but you were REALLY great in Wicked."

Best Silly Interviewer Question: "Let's just put them all in a category—anything having to do with my name."

Best Fan Letter or Gift: "The letter that said, 'I really loved the show, but there's a moment in "Great Big Stuff" where you say, "I can finally afford a Broadway show" and then you say, "Doubt"… I wondered if every night you said a different Broadway show and I wondered why you said "Doubt" that night.' The actual lyric is 'Gout' and I thought, 'Jesus Christ. There are some sad people in the world.' I hung it up on the call board and let it sit there for days. People stared in disbelief."

Best CD: "I'm crazy about this new CD by The White Stripes, Get Behind Me Satan. Love it."

Best Backstage Visitor: "When Chita Rivera came backstage and couldn't pronounce my name. I heard her coming up the stairs: 'Where is that little fucker?' She said to me, 'I don't care what your name is. From here on out, I'm gonna call you Little Fucker. Let me look at you. God, you're fantastic, you little fucker!'"

Best Broadway Show: "I haven't seen many, but The Pillowman was pretty amazing."

Best Moment: "Two nights ago. Bruce Springsteen was backstage. It was seriously one of the major moments of my life. I was a really unhappy kid and listening to those albums got me through high school and college. I was obsessed. It was a major rite of passage for me to meet him."

Best Reason to Be On Broadway: "You know what? With the state of the world being what it is right now, two and a half hours of music and joy is maybe the best we can do, you know?"
