New Doubt Stars Atkins, Eldard and Malone Sidelined by Flu

The new cast of Doubt will not be starting on January 10 after all. Eileen Atkins, Ron Eldard and Jena Malone have all been sidelined with the flu, according to a production spokesperson.

Original cast members Cherry Jones, Brían F. O'Byrne and Heather Goldenhersh all played their final performances on January 8. Adriane Lenox is the only original cast member staying with the production, and she will indeed be on. She will be joined by three understudies--Lizbeth MacKay in the role of Sister Aloysius Atkins' part, Stevie Ray Dallimore as Father Flynn Eldard's role and Nadia Bowers as Sister James Malone's character. Only Bowers has been on before.

A production spokesperson said Atkins, Eldard and Malone will begin performances as soon as possible.
