Sidd, a Musical Siddhartha, Moves from Cherry Lane to Dodger Stages

Sidd, a new musical based on the Hermann Hesse novel Siddhartha, has found a midtown home. Originally scheduled to play at the Cherry Lane Theater, the show will now begin performances at Dodger Stages 5 on February 23.

Sidd chronicles the extraordinary journey of a man's life from his youthful wanderings in his home village, through his many years living amidst the glamour jazz and corruption of the city, his encounter with Buddha and ultimately, his enlightenment that follows. The show features music and lyrics by Doug Silver and direction, book & additional lyrics by Andrew Frank.

Neil Maffin Broadway's Salomé and off-Broadway's The Sum of Us, Sand, Entertaining Mr. Sloane, High Infidelity and Thief River will play the title role in the tuner. Marie-France Arcilla, Dann Fink, Pamela Jordan, Nicole Lewis, Arthur Marks and Gerry McIntyre will also be featured.

Sidd is scheduled to officially open on March 22. Dodger Stages 5 is currently home to Naked Boys Singing! and Christine Jorgensen Reveals. While Christine Jorgensen Reveals will close on January 28, Naked Boys which only plays Friday at 10:30pm and Saturday at 6pm and 10:30pm will continue in the space with Sidd!.
