Broadway Grosses: The Dancer's Life Steps Up

Stage legend Chita Rivera's new show is stepping up. Although Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life is still close to the bottom of shows on Broadway in terms of gross, its numbers have been steadily increasing. For the week ending January 15, The Dancer's Life earned $311, 599, which is a $14,172 increase from the previous week and $60,984 more than it made its first week on Broadway the week ending November 27. The box office was possibly boosted from the addition of the number "America," featuring the original Jerome Robbins choreography from West Side Story. Later this month January 24 through January 26, Rivera's Bye Bye Birdie co-star, Dick Van Dyke will play four performances, which may also cause a box office surge.
