MCC Theater Swaps LaBute's Girl(s) for Bicycles

MCC Theater will close out their season with a different Neil LaBute play than was first announced. Instead of presenting the world premiere of the playwright's Swallowing Bicycles, the company will instead mount the New York premiere of his Some Girls, according to a production spokesperson.

Some Girls centers on a womanizer who decides to visits some ex-girlfriends before he becomes engaged to his current love.

Some Girls premiered in the West End to mixed reviews last May. That production starred David Schwimmer expected to be on Broadway this spring in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial as the central character and Saffron Burrows, Lesley Manville, Sara Powell and Catherine Tate.

Just as Jo Bonney was expected to helm Swallowing Bicycles, she is on board to direct this mounting of Some Girls. The show will run from May 17 through June 24 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.
