How To Find Your Inner Bombshell
Angie Schworer, who plays knockout Swedish secretary-slash-receptionist Ulla in The Producers knows a thing or to about flaunting it. Though the performer admitted to Broadway.com that her offstage life does not have the same amount of vavavoom as her time at the St. James Theatre, she has a few pointers on how to find your inner bombshell. Okey-slash-dokey?
Pump Yourself Up
You can't be a bombshell without looking the part. "When you think of a typical bombshell, Marilyn Monroe comes to mind," says Schworer. "She's legendary. And the physicality of it comes from those Hollywood pinups." But how does a plain Jane achieve such a look? "Pump yourself up," Schworer recommends. "Go ahead and put the cookies in your bra, wear five-inch pumps, try my lipstick color, "Russian Red" by MAC. And don't forget the obvious lashes and platinum hair!"
Be Positive
If there's one thing Ulla has going for her, it's a bright outlook on life. She's not exactly a downer at a party. "People are automatically attracted to being positive," says Schworer. "That's part of her charm. I always say she's dumb as a fox, and some of her lines are kind of dumb, but they really just come from a positive, loving place that you can't resist. People want to be around that."
Lose the Arrogance
Sure, Ulla's got it, and she certainly flaunts it, but she's not a narcissistic bitch about it. Schworer thinks that the key to finding one's inner bombshell rests in one particular area: self-esteem. "You have to be confident without being arrogant," she says, "because then it turns into something totally different." The key is finding a balance. "It's literally just being comfortable in your own skin."
