Broadway Grosses: Wicked Soars, Broadway Drops

The witches of Oz seem poised to take London by storm as Wicked went on sale in the West End, selling a record-breaking £100,000 in the first hour. Meanwhile, the hit family musical is still tops on Broadway, reporting a gross of $1,327,337 for the week ending on March 5, a period in which most shows took a dip. Everything was down this past week except for The Pajama Game, which saw a spike thanks to mostly positive reviews.
