All My Children's Jacob Young to Play Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast

All My Children star Jacob Young is set to make his Broadway debut as candelabra Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. He will begin a 10-week engagement in the musical on May 9.

Young currently plays the troubled JR Chandler a role that earned him a Daytime Emmy Nomination as Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in All My Children. Prior to starting on All My Children, he received a Daytime Emmy Award for his role as Lucky Spencer on General Hospital. His other credits include the film The Girl Next Door and the television movie Beach Boys: An All American Family. Artemis Records released his eponymous solo recording in 2001.

Beauty and the Beast will continue to star Ashley Brown as Belle and Steve Blanchard as the Beast. Young will not perform Wednesday matinees because of his All My Children schedule.
