Broadway Grosses: Tarzan and Lestat Spring into New Season

Broadway's spring season has started to bloom with five shows starting previews last week. Awake and Sing!, Festen, Lestat, Tarzan and The Threepenny Opera all joined the boards. Of the newbies, Tarzan faired particularly well, filling the Richard Rodgers Theatre to 100% capacity and grossing $149,856 in just two preview performances. Lestat at the Palace also packed them in--grossing $113,807 with a capacity of 96.44% for a single preview performance.
