Second Stage Announces Anton Dudley and Rajiv Joseph Plays for Uptown Series

Second Stage Theatre has announced the lineup for its 2006 Second Stage Theatre Uptown series at the McGinn/Cazale Theater. The company will present Anton Dudley's Getting Home from June 5 through July 1 and Rajiv Joseph's All This Intimacy from July 17 through August 12.

Once upon a time on the enchanted isle of Manhattan, Tristan found himself a free ride home from a prince in a yellow chariot. Jan found herself the object of two rival princes' affections. And Nilesh realized that heartache and self-torment have a shelf life of about six years. Getting Home attempts to prove that anything can happen in New York. David Schweizer will direct Getting Home.

All This Intimacy centers on Guy, a lusty 30-year-old poet who finds himself embroiled in several simultaneous relationships. There's his sweet girlfriend Erin, his God-fearing 40-year-old neighbor Maureen and Becca, his 18-year-old student. They all have news for him that is sure to rock the cradle. All This Intimacy will be directed by Giovanna Sardelli.

The Second Stage Theatre Uptown series seeks to develop the skills of emerging playwrights, to provide early-career artists with the support of a major artistic institution and to create new plays for the American theater.
