Original Cast Member Ryan Duncan Returns to Altar Boyz May 1

Original cast member Ryan Duncan will return to Altar Boyz for eight weeks. He resumes performances as Juan on May 1, replacing current star Clyde Alves.

"I am excited to be back," Duncan told Broadway.com. "I've been in LA a couple of times since I left, but I'm thrilled to sweat my butt off here again."

Duncan created the role of Juan at the New York Musical Theater Festival and opened the off-Broadway production in March of last year. He departed on October 1, 2005. Daniel Torres replaced Duncan and then Nick Sanchez did a stint as Juan before Alves started in the show in mid-January. Duncan's other theatrical credits include New York mountings of Dancing Straight, The Ritz, Kundalini and Lyle, Lyle Crocodile and national tours of Man of La Mancha and Fiddler on the Roof. After he left Altar Boyz, he appeared in a Los Angeles mounting of Sex*But.

In addition to Alves, Altar Boyz features Jason Celaya, Tyler Maynard, Andrew C. Call and Dennis Moench.
