Shortened Producers Heads to Sin City This Summer

The Producers will be the next Broadway show to make the trip to Sin City. An intermission-free 90-minute version of the show is set to begin performances at the Paris Las Vegas in late summer 2006.

The Producers, based on Mel Brooks' 1968 film of the same name, is the story of down-on-his-luck theatrical producer Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, a mousy accountant. Together, they hatch the ultimate scam: Raise more money than you need for a sure-fire Broadway fiasco...and pocket the difference. The mega-hit musical, directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman, broke the record for most Tony wins by garnering 12 awards. The show features music and lyrics by Brooks, a book by Brooks and Thomas Meehan and direction and choreography by Susan Stroman.

The Paris Las Vegas was previously the home of the Queen musical We Will Rock You, which closed on November 27.
