Vineyard Announces Plays by Washburn, Barrie and Silver for 2006-2007 Season

The Vineyard Theatre has announced three of the four productions that will comprise its upcoming 25th-anniversary season. The company's lineup will include Anne Washburn's The Internationalist, a revival of J.M. Barrie's Mary Rose and The Agony and the Agony, written by and starring Nicky Silver this last piece will be part of the Lab Production Series, open only to Vineyard Theatre members.

The Internationalist follows a young American businessman's experiences living and working in a country where he does not speak the language. The play, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll, is scheduled to begin performances on October 24.

In early 2007, the Vineyard will present Mary Rose, the story of a girl who might just be a ghost. Tina Landau directs.

The Agony and the Agony is slated for the spring. It centers on one desperate writer's ultimate revenge. Terry Kinney, who helmed Silver's Beautiful Child at the Vineyard, is set to direct.

The Vineyard will soon complete its current season with the one-woman play Stopping Traffic, beginning performances on May 24. This summer, the off-Broadway space will be occupied by a return engagement of [title of show].
