Broadway Grosses: Ahead of the Tony Curve

The week leading up to the Tony Awards proved to be a preemptive success for The History Boys and The Drowsy Chaperone, both of which took home multiple statues. The former, which scored six Tonys, including one for Best Play, brought in $760,502 for the week ending June 11, a jump of $104,052 from the previous week's $656,450. Drowsy, which raked in five awards, including Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical, also experienced a box-office jump: The musical earned $911,691 for the week ending June 11, up from $735,905 the previous week.
