The con game is done: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels has announced a closing date of Sunday, September 3. The musical, directed by Jack O'Brien, opened at Broadway's Imperial Theatre on March 3, 2005, and picked up 11 Tony nominations; original star Norbert Leo Butz was named Best Actor for his performance as Freddy Benson.
The musical currently stars Keith Carradine as Lawrence Jameson, Brian d'Arcy James as Freddy Benson, original cast member Sherie Rene Scott as Christine Colgate, Lucie Arnaz as Muriel Eubanks and Richard Kind as Andre. Arnaz recently underwent knee surgery, but hopes to return before the show closes. Her role is currently being played by Rachel de Benedet.
For the week ending August 13, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels played to 70.76% capacity at the Imperial. A new tenant is expected to be announced shortly.
