Leo Marks will replace John C. Reilly in Heather Woodbury's production of Tale of 2Cities: An American Joyride on Multiple Tracks, directed by Dudley Saunders. As previously reported, Reilly withdrew from the cast due to a scheduling conflict. Tale of 2Cities will begin performances at P.S. 122 on October 12 and run through October 29.
Marks has performed at the Old Globe Lincolnesque, South Coast Rep Major Barbara, The Ahmanson Dead End, Playwrights Horizons Somewhere in the Pacific and the Actors Theater of Louisville Huck Finn, Comedy of Errors, among others. He helped create New York's Elevator Repair Service, with whom he has performed all around New York City and Europe. TV/film credits include Law and Order: SVU, Six Feet Under, NYPD Blue, The Practice, Frasier, Gilmore Girls, Homicide, 10-8, It's All Relative, All My Children and Meet Joe Black.
Tale of 2Cities is described as a sweeping story of urban displacement—a mix of music, memory and overlapping histories that form a living elegy to both vanished and vanishing communities. Woodbury's inspiration hit while walking in the hills near Dodger Stadium after moving back to L.A. from New York City.
