Citing Technical Problems, Mimi le Duck Postpones Previews By One Day

Citing "unexpected delays in technical rehearsal," the production team of the new off-Broadway musical Mimi le Duck has been postponed by one day. The production is now scheduled to begin performances October 12 at New World Stages. Opening night remains October 31.

The show's general manager, Carol Fishman, issued a statement explaining the delay: "The Paris that's been created by our Tony Award-winning design team is more elaborate than the typical off-Broadway show, and our technical rehearsals took longer than expected. In order to ensure that the audience sees the beautiful world that our designers intended, we needed to iron out a few final technical concerns."

The production features Candy Buckley, Robert DuSold, Allen Fitzpatrick, Annie Golden, Ken Jennings, Marcus Neville and Eartha Kitt. Directed by Thomas Caruso, Mimi le Duck has book and lyrics by Diana Hansen-Young, music by Brian Feinstein and musical staging by Matt West. All audience members at preview performances will receive a free demo CD of songs from the show.

Mimi le Duck follows Miriam Golden, a discontented Mormon housewife from Ketchum, Idaho, who, in a moment of desperately crazy inspiration, packs her bags and moves to Paris, leaving behind her husband and her successful career as a painter of duck canvases for the QVC Network.
