Kathie Lee Gifford has been cast as Miss Hannigan in the forthcoming production of Annie at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. The musical is scheduled to run from December 6-30. Conrad John Schuck will play Daddy Warbucks and Marissa O'Donnell takes the title role, directed by lyricist/original director Martin Charnin.
Gifford, well known for her years as co-host of TV's Live With Regis and Kathie Lee, made her Broadway debut in Putting It Together. She has since written two musicals, Under the Bridge, which was produced off-Broadway, and Saving Aimee, which will have its world-premiere production at the Signature Theatre in Arlington Virginia April 10-May 13, 2007.
Annie originally opened on Broadway in April 1977 and won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Actress for the late Dorothy Loudon. The Madison Square Garden production will play seven shows a week, including five weekend performances. Evening performances begin at 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
