Broadway Grosses: Supernanny Poppins Touches Down on 42nd Street

Mary Poppins has officially landed on the Great White Way. In its first two previews, Disney's practically perfect heroine filled the New Amsterdam Theatre to 96.62% capacity, joining Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King in the company's lineup of Broadway musicals. Five blocks north, the music of Bob Dylan also arrived on Broadway as Twyla Tharp's The Times They Are A-Changin' began previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, drawing 86.45% capacity in its first seven previews.
