NBC Exec Craig Plestis said of the news, "Billy is the perfect host for Grease. He is one of the most experienced and talented live TV hosts around today and will have great chemistry with Denise, who brings a wealth of theater knowledge to the show."
Bush has been the co-anchor of Access Hollywood for two years and has also done red carpet coverage for the Oscars, Golden Globes, Emmys and Grammys. He hosted ABC's live pre-show for the past three Academy Awards ceremonies.
The musical will land back on Broadway with its viewer-chosen Sandy and Danny in June 2007 and will be directed and choreographed by two-time Tony winner Kathleen Marshall. Marshall will also serve as one of three judges on the TV show, alongside Grease co-creator Jim Jacobs and theater producer David Ian.
