Broadway Grosses: Producers Give Thanks for Record-Setting Week at B.O.

Records were shattered across the board on Broadway during the Thanksgiving holiday week. Overall, the box office figures represented the highest gross and highest paid attendance in recorded history for the week of Thanksgiving. Individual shows also set records: Wicked broke its own record as the all-time box office champ with a one-week gross of $1,715,155. Jersey Boys, The Lion King and Tarzan broke house records at the August Wilson, Minskoff and Richard Rodgers Theatres, respectively. In the category of percentage of capacity, two high-profile revivals, Les Miserables 101.69% and A Chorus Line 101.16%, edged out perennial champ Jersey Boys 100.74%. A total of 10 shows played to higher than 95% capacity. Meanwhile, two struggling shows, Losing Louie and Jay Johnson: The Two and Only!, ended their Broadway runs.
