Flamenco Show Joaquín Cortés: Mi Soledad Cancels Broadway Run

The producers of Joaquín Cortés: Mi Soledad have announced the cancellation of its previously announced Broadway engagement "due to an illness in the Cortés family." Joaquín Cortés: Mi Soledad was scheduled to play a limited engagement at Broadway's Palace Theatre from December 11 through December 22. The production would have marked the Broadway debut of the Spanish flamenco dance star.

In a statement, producer Jeff Rowland said, "It is unfortunate that we must now cancel what promised to be a very rewarding Broadway engagement for Joaquín and for the entire Mi Soledad company. But due to circumstances beyond our control, it is most important that Joaquín be with his family right now, and our thoughts are with them during this time. After the holidays, we will begin looking at options for bringing Mi Soledad to New York in 2007."
