Broadway Grosses: Tourists Line Up for Broadway Over the Holidays

The holiday season saw a boost to the box office this past week, with A Chorus Line filling the Schoenfeld Theatre to 100.82% capacity. Holiday mainstay Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas took top honors in grosses, bringing in $1,681,661 over the holiday shopping week. The Little Dog Laughed continued to struggle, coming in last in both gross and capacity, despite the heavy tourist season. Musicals Company and Grey Gardens also proved to be a tough sell, filling to only 59.70% and 62.99% capacity respectively. However, new musical Spring Awakening's box office continued to thrive off of its rave reviews, going up another 20% in capacity this week.
