Broadway Grosses: Attendance Remains Down During Icy Cold Week

Broadway continued to feel the effects of the winter in a week that included the coldest weekend of the season: Gross and capacity fell for the majority of Broadway shows, with even the top five titles drawing less money than usual. Buoyed by stellar reviews, the Manhattan Theatre Club's revival of Translations and previews of the third part of The Coast of Utopia bucked the trend, filling the Biltmore and Vivian Beaumont Theatres to 84.52% and 94.04% of capacity, respectively. Meanwhile, long-running shows continued to struggle, with many unable to fill their theaters beyond 75% of capacity.
