This heartfelt and hilarious one-woman show began previews on September 27, 2006, and officially opened on October 12. Written by Kate Moira Ryan with Gold and directed by Karen Kohlhaas, 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother recounts Gold’s personal journey to becoming a parent while learning to be a daughter to a nagging Jewish mother of her own.
The Emmy-winning actress/comedienne and Ryan embarked on a five-year journey across the United States, interviewing over 50 Jewish women of different ages, ethnicities, and occupations. The result is a moving and humorous portrait of what makes a Jewish mother, a Jewish mother.
25 Questions for a Jewish Mother received a 2006 Drama Desk nomination and a 2007 GLAAD Media Award nomination.
