Guys and Dolls will shutter at the West End's Piccadilly Theatre on April 14. Directed by Michael Grandage and choreographed by Rob Ashford, it was previously booking through June 30.
The show opened on June 1, 2005 with a cast that was led by Ewan McGregor, Jane Krakowski, Douglas Hodge and Jenna Russell. It subsequently featured Patrick Swayze, Neil Morrissey and Claire Sweeney. The revival currently stars Don Johnson as Nathan Detroit, Samantha Janus as Miss Adelaide, Norman Bowman as Sky Masterson and Lisa Stokke as Sarah Brown. The production is also currently on a U.K. national tour that runs through June 23.
Guys and Dolls is based on the stories of Damon Runyon and features music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows.
The next tenant at London's Piccadilly Theatre is expected to be a revival of Grease that is having its principals cast by a reality TV competition called Grease is the Word.
