Spring Awakening Tops 2007 Lucille Lortel Nominations

The League of Off-Broadway Theatres and Producers announced the nominees for the 22nd Annual Lucille Lortel Awards today. Topping the list of honorees with six nominations is Spring Awakening, which successfully transferred to Broadway in November. Also notably, the Public's production of David Hare's Stuff Happens and the Atlantic's The Voysey Inheritance garnered five nominations each, and the Signature Theater Company locked in three of the four spots in the Play Revival category.

The Lucille Lortel Awards will be presented on May 7 at New World Stages. During the ceremony, in addition to the announcement of the winners in competitive categories, there will be tributes to Lifetime Achievement Award winner Kevin Kline who recently ended his run as King Lear at the Public and Playwrights' Sidewalk Inductee Christopher Durang, as well as special awards for the Classical Theatre of Harlem, Fight Director Rick Sordelet and the Actors' Fund of America, in recognition of 125 Years of Service.
