Utopia, Spring Awakening Top List of 2007 Outer Critics Circle Winners

Tom Stoppard's trilogy The Coast of Utopia topped the list of 2007 winners for the Outer Critics Circle Awards. The Lincoln Center Theater production received six awards including Outstanding New Broadway Play and Outstanding Director of a Play for Jack O'Brien.

The musical Spring Awakening was honored in three categories, for Outstanding New Broadway Musical, Outstanding Director of a Musical for Michael Mayer and Outstanding New Score for songwriters Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater.

Other notable winners include Company and Journey's End, which each received two awards including prizes as the best revivals of the season. Of the off-Broadway scene, In the Heights was named best new musical and A.R. Gurney's Indian Blood was named best new play.

The top acting prizes went to Eve Best A Moon for the Misbegotten, Raul Esparza Company, Frank Langella Frost/Nixon and Donna Murphy LoveMusik.
