Kelli Garner, Annette O'Toole and More Join CSC's Seagull

Kelli Garner and Annette O'Toole are among the actors who will complete the cast for Classic Stage Company's forthcoming production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull. Directed by Viacheslav Dolgachev, the play will begin previews on February 20 at CSC's off-Broadway theater and open on March 13. The limited engagement, starring previously announced stars Dianne Wiest Irina Arkadina and Alan Cumming Boris Alexeyevich Trigorin, will continue through March 30.

Garner will play Nina Mikhailovna Zarechnaya and O'Toole has been cast as Paulina Andryevna, alongside Ryan O'Nan Konstantin Gavrilovich Treplev, David Rasche Yevgeny Sergeyevich Dorn, John Christopher Jones Pyotr Nikolayevich Sorin, Bill Christ Ilya Shamrayev, Ryan Homchick Yakov, Greg Keller Semyon Semyonovich Medvedenko and Marjan Neshat Masha.

Written in 1896, The Seagull is widely regarded as Chekhov's first masterpiece, subtly dissecting the affairs of the heart and the demands of a life in the arts, while balancing the comic, the lyric and the tragic in a manner that has become the hallmark of his work.

Garner appeared off-Broadway in Dog Sees God and has featured in the films Lars and the Real Girl, Normal Adolescent Behavior, Autopsy, Dreamland, London, Man of the House, The Aviator and Love, Liza.

O'Toole has appeared in such films as Cat People, One On One, 48 Hours, Superman III and HBO's Vanities. On TV, she has been a regular on Smallville.

Rasche's Broadway credits include Speed the Plow, Lunch Hour, Loose Ends, The Shadow Box and Getting and Spending. Off-Broadway credits include Edmond, Moonlight and Magnolias, Regrets Only, It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's Superman and The Country Girl.

Jones' New York theater credits include Otherwise Engaged, Hurlyburly, Democracy, The Iceman Cometh, Engaged and Golden Child.
