In celebration of its 10th anniversary on Broadway, Disney's The Lion King will display memorabilia from the show at the Time Warner Center's Shops at Columbus Circle's from April 7 to April 27. The exhibit features two fully costumed wax figures of characters Rafiki and Scar, each developed by Madame Tussauds New York. Also on display will be behind-the-scenes photographs, costume sketches, models, full-scale puppets and costume displays.
The Lion King opened on Broadway on November 13, 1997, winning six 1998 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Direction. The show is now running at the Minskoff Theatre.
