The Marvelous Wonderettes to Get Cast Recording from PS Classics

The off-Broadway production of The Marvelous Wonderettes will be preserved on an original cast recording to be released by PS Classics on November 11. The cast Farah Alvin, Beth Malone, Bets Malone and Victoria Matlock will go unto the studio on September 18, four days after the show's opening at the Westside Theatre. The CD will be produced by Grammy Award winner Jeffrey Lesser.
Written and directed by Roger Bean, The Marvelous Wonderettes features the iconic sounds of the fifties and beyond. Set around the 1958 Springfield High School prom, the show tells the story of the Wonderettes—Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy—four young girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. The production features classic hits such as “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” “Lipstick on Your Collar,” “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,” “It's My Party” and “It's In His Kiss The Shoop Shoop Song."
