[title of show] to End Broadway Run at Lyceum on 10/12

The musical [title of show] is ending its Broadway run on October 12. The show, which features Jeff Bowen, Hunter Bell, Susan Blackwell and Heidi Blickenstaff, will have played 13 preview and 102 regular performances at the time of closing.

Written by Bowen and Bell and directed by well-known Broadway performer Michael Berresse, [title of show] takes a unique and comical look at the artistic process as two struggling writers and two struggling actresses take on the seemingly impossible task of creating a new musical about creating a new musical.

[title of show] debuted in 2004 at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, followed by its off-Broadway debut in 2006 at the Vineyard Theatre. Bowen, Bell and Berresse won 2006 Obie Awards for their work on the show.

Although the show was a favorite of many critics and has developed a loyal fanbase, it has struggled at the box office since landing on Broadway. Last week's grosses indicated the musical earned just $107,591 and played to 30.42% capacity.

The four stars—who all play themselves onstage—hosted Broadway.com's popular VIP Tony Awards after-party video feature to great fanfare.

[title of show] isn't the only quirky musical departing Broadway next month. Earlier this week, Xanadu also announced an October 12 closing date.
