Dates Set for 2008 Gypsy of the Year Competition

Dates have been set for the 20th annual Gypsy of the Year competition, in which New York’s most talented chorus members from Broadway and off-Broadway shows join in a competition/variety show after six weeks of intensive fundraising benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The competition will take place at the New Amsterdam Theatre on December 8 and 9. Awards are presented to the companies that raise the most money and also for the winning presentation.

Fans may donate online in addition to making donations to BC/EFA at theatrical performances and become eligible to win prizes such as signed Playbills, round-trip plane tickets and a weekend in New York depending on the amount of the donation; go to www.BroadwayCares.org for details.
