The December 2 performance of Shrek the Musical has been taken off sale and cancelled. Currently in previews at the Broadway Theatre, the show's official opening is still set for December 14. No other performances will be affected.
According to a press release, the reason for the cancellation is to allow the production’s creative team "to complete some final changes before opening night. There is not enough stage time during the current preview schedule to implement and rehearse the changes planned."
An all-new new musical based on the story and characters from William Steig's book Shrek!, as well as the blockbuster DreamWorks film, Shrek the Musical stars Brian d’Arcy James, Sutton Foster, Christopher Siber, Daniel Breaker and John Tartaglia, with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori. Jason Moore directs.
