Smith, 77, who began his career as a box office treasurer, has served as President of the Shubert Organization since 1996. During his rise to Vice President and Executive Vice President, Smith worked closely with Schoenfeld and the late Bernard B. Jacobs in the selection of the shows produced and booked at Shubert theaters. Smith sits on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors and on the Tony Awards Administration Committee of the Broadway League and is a board member of The Actors' Fund and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. He is also a member of the Knights of Malta and the recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
Wankel, who will turn 62 on December 5, served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Shubert Organization and Chief Financial Officer of The Shubert Foundation, Inc. In a 33-year career with the Shuberts, he has been involved in the overall management of the organization with responsibilities for the financial operations, commercial real estate, Shubert Ticketing Services and Tele-charge.com. He is a member of the Executive Committees and Board of Governors of The Broadway League and the Times Square Alliance and serves as Chairman Emeritus and Trustee of the Board of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts as well as an Officer and Director of The Actors Studio.
