The gala will include salutes to Seldes by a host of theater artists and will also honor the Union Square Partnership, a community-based nonprofit organization designed to ensure the neighborhood’s continued growth and success.
Seldes, who celebrated her 80th birthday in August, made her Broadway debut in 1947 in a production of Medea and was most recently seen on Broadway last year opposite Angela Lansbury in Terrence McNally's Deuce. She earned Tony Award nominations for Dinner at Eight, Ring Round the Moon, Deathtrap and Father’s Day and won a Tony in 1967 for her performance in the original Broadway production of Albee’s A Delicate Balance.
