Thanks to good reviews and strong tickets sales, Liza Minnelli’s new show Liza's at the Palace... will play an additional week of performances at Palace Theatre. Originally set to close on December 28, the engagement is now scheduled to run through January 4, including evening performances on December 30, January 2 and January 3, plus a final matinee performance on January 4. The December 10 performance of the show was cancelled, reportedly on doctor's orders; Minnelli is expected back onstage on December 12. Her show does not play on Thursdays.
Directed and choreographed by Ron Lewis, the show features a 12-piece orchestra ledy by conducter/drummer Michael Berkowitz and pianist/musical supervisor Billy Stritch. The first act highlights many of Minnelli’s personal favorites and signature hits, while the second pays tribute to the groundbreaking late-1940s nightclub act of Minnelli's godmother, Kay Thompson.
The performance also features addition material by David Zippel, scenery by Ray Klausen, costumes by Roy Frowick Halston, lighting by Matt Berman and sound by Matt Krauss.
Liza’s at the Palace is produced by John Scher/Metropolitan Talent Presents & Jubilee Time Productions, with Gary Labriola serving as Executive Producer.
