Broadway alum and recent A Tale of Two Cities star James Barbour will begin a new concert series at Sardi's later this month. The original series, which began as a two-week long showcase of holiday songs featuring Barbour and special guests, enjoyed a sold-out run before closing on January 4. The series will resume beginning January 31 and play through February 28, this time under the banner James Barbour: Love Songs.
Love Songs will feature special Valentine’s performances February 13, 14 and 15, and includes songs such as “Loving You Keeps Me Alive,” “If Ever I Would Leave You,” “If I Loved You,” “If I Can’t Love Her,” “My Funny Valentine,” “Embraceable You,” “On the Street Where You Love,” “Unexpected Song” and “Autumn Leaves.”
Barbour played romantic hero Sydney Carton in A Tale of Two Cities, which closed at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on November 9. Previous Broadway credits include Billy Bigelow in Carousel, the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Edward Fairfax Rochester in Jane Eyre, Officer Lockstock in Urinetown and Leon Czolgosz in Assassins.
Barbour’s series is presented by Treehouse Entertainment Inc. and Robert Nusim for Theatrical Marking Associates. Jeremy Roberts is the musical director.
