Tickets are now on sale for the forthcoming Broadway revival of
Hair, the exciting "American tribal love-rock musical" that attracted capacity crowds in Central Park last summer. The show will begin previews on March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and will open on March 31, directed by Diane Paulus.
The producers of
Hair also announced plans to reveal the show's cast over consecutive days the week of January 26. Joining previously announced star
Gavin Creel as Claude will be Tribe members Lauren Elder, Allison Guinn, Anthony Hollock, John Moauro and Ato Blankson-Wood. All five actors were featured in the Central Park production and will be making their Broadway debuts.
Hair features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. With a score that includes enduring hits like "Let the Sun Shine In," "Aquarius," "Hair" and "Good Morning Starshine," the musical depicts the birth of a cultural movement in the '60s as told through a tribe of hopeful hippies living in New York City while war rages in Vietnam.
Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel are producing Hair with the Public Theater, which presented the original production at its downtown home in October 1967. To get tickets for this musical event, click here.
