Hall will be joined by Gemma Atkinson Hollyoaks, Jill Baker Goose-pimples, Richenda Carey Nuts in May, Sara Crowe who co-starred with Joan Collins in Private Lives and a host of EastEnders vets—Anita Dobson an Olivier Award nominee for Frozen, Jill Halfpenny, Jack Ryder and octogenarian June Brown. A 24-year resident of EastEnders, Brown will assume the role of Miss January, currently played by Sîan Phillips. The new Girls are booked through October 17.
Directed by Hamish McColl The Play What I Wrote, Calendar Girls centers on an enterprising group of women who eschew traditional fundraising ideas like bake sales and decide to raise money for charity their own R-rated way. The current cast, who’ll play through July 25, includes Lynda Bellingham, Patricia Hodge, Phillips, Gaynor Faye, Brigit Forsyth, Julia Hills and Elaine C. Smith.
