The post-Tony glow could be felt all across the Great White Way. In addition to perennial winners God of Carnage, West Side Story and Billy Elliot, the Tony-winning revival of Hair topped the magic $1 million mark, just missing top five status. Also on the upswing: Rock of Ages, which saw its grosses jump more than $130,000 from the previous week. Family musicals such as Shrek and Mary Poppins experienced six-figure upswings as well. Meanwhile, Broadway said good-bye to Exit the King, Guys and Dolls, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone (which ended its run playing to capacity audiences) and Reasons to be Pretty.
