Entertainment Weekly

"A spectacular, rather perfect Broadway musical not only grounded in a serious love and understanding of the traditions that make a Broadway musical great but also filled with love for the very flawed, mortal characters who populate this romp."

Entertainment Weekly

Lisa Schwarzbaum

The Hollywood Reporter

"Parker and Stone have created one of the freshest original musicals in recent memory. It has tuneful songs, clever lyrics, winning characters, explosive laughs and disarmingly intimate moments. "

The Hollywood Reporter

David Rooney

The Hollywood Reporter

"While The Book of Mormon packs plenty of blissful profanity, sacrilege and politically incorrect mischief, the defining quality of this hugely entertaining show is its sweetness."

The Hollywood Reporter

David Rooney

New York Daily News

"The show is blissfully original, irreverent, outspoken and hilarious. And all that's tucked inside good -- no, great -- old-fashioned musical."

New York Daily News

Joe Dziemianowicz

The New York Times

"These numbers are witty, ridiculous, impeccably executed and genuinely stirring."

Hilariously Funny
"Didn't really know what to expect, but knew it was going to be funny. What I didn't know was that there were going to be serious and compelling social and religous issues addressed. Good for kids? The female circumsicion theme might be a little dark for some children, but a great show all around."

Waited 14 years to see it in NY, favorite show yet
"The actors were amazing, my wife and I just had an amazing time. It was funny, crude, and the actors absolutely crushed it across the board. I couldn't be more positive about my experience. I laughed the entire time, I highly recommend seeing this Book of Mormon especially if you're familiar with Trey Parker and Matt Stone's work outside of South Park"

BOM is a bomb
"Our first Broadway show, and it couldn't be better. We liked the overall content and the wonderful individual performances. We read the good reviews before the show, and it was as good or better than the reviews, a must-see show. "

Irreverence at an olympic level
"The writing is hilarious and gleefully offensive every step of the way. There is no safe subject, from start to end it's classically in-your-face offensive. Would definitely see it again."

A lovely show
"First time in NYC after a number of years. This has been on our list of shows to see and glad we were able to get tickets. A bit risqué and, in this PC era, was really wonderful to see the writers did a great job of telling the story. Not for children! Thoroughly enjoyed it!"

About The Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon follows two young missionaries who are sent to Uganda to try to convert citizens to the Mormon religion. One missionary, Elder Price, is an enthusiastic go-getter with a strong dedication to his faith, while his partner, Elder Cunningham, is a socially awkward but well meaning nerd whose tendency to embroider the truth soon lands him in trouble. Upon their arrival in Africa, Elders Price and Cunningham learn that in a society plagued by AIDS, poverty and violence, a successful mission may not be as easy as they expected.
